Getting into Writing
57
When I was younger, I kept a journal for awhile, diary to be exact. I did not write everyday like
others. I wrote only when there was something interesting that happened. I jotted down my
thoughts, expressed my feelings whether I was happy or sad. I recorded some of the special
events which happened at that time. Keeping the journal helped me to get into the habit of
writing. It helps me to improve my skills. I found writing to be enjoyable. When you take a note
book wherever you go, it is like a painter taking his paint palette and his canvas. Writing is
similar to painting, except you paint with words. A journal could be a personal time capsule
because you can open it three years later and read about part of your history.

my history always starts with must lose weight..... your hub is informative i like it
She ain't heavy she's my sister!
(from an old song- he ain't heavy he's my brother)
Thanks for the hub.
Interesting, you've encouraged me to start taking a notebook with me now, because I usually have thoughts that I'd like to write about, but by the time I get home I forget them. Thanks for the reminder.
Hi tim-tim, I do the same thing too. I always have a notebook with me so I can write down anything that catches my fancy and crosses my mind. It's always fun to go back to my notebook and discover things that I have either forgotten or things that triggered me to pursue what I am doing now.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi tim-tim. I too, kept journals, and still do, but don't write as often as I used to, although lately I have. I agree with you - writing is like painting with words. I like that! Also, like you said, one can learn so much about one's self when we read our thoughts from our past and learn from our history.
Tim-Tim great Hub
Congratulations on making the decision to write. That makes you more courageous than I because I started writing by accident, carried on by mistake and now I keep writing by habit
Yes, Tim-tim, writing is like painting, it really helps you in easing up your tension.I agree with you by reading our previous notes we can evaluate ourselves in developing our next stage of life journey. Keep up your great writing spirit.cheers
Good Hub Writing is good for the mind.
When you read a book, you are in active communion with another mind. When you write, you are in the company of many, in communion with the multitude.
